EVERYTHING FALLS APART | A PERSPECTIVE

Listening to the first ordered version of the album it occurred to me that there was a real solid logic behind the structure and flow of the tracks, how they enriched and solidified the sense of their grouping. I felt that they create a powerful narrative. I guess that there can be little more powerful than a series of individual tales that work well on their own, but in total create an even more complete whole.
The album to me is like a map of our history as a band, but to Cassi it is almost an autobiography of her psyche, somehow the tracks seem to fall into place almost organically.
This is how I would describe the story the album tells me. Below is the transcript of a chat between me and Cassi… I have pasted it in here verbatim as Cassi asked me to do:

it’s almost like Bitch seduces you in and All Bets let’s you off the ride gently
while the middle tells you a big story
it’s how it feels
it’s like reading a book
I was just listening to the last two

after the wild hammer to the head of Johnny
you then kind of say a nostalgic goodbye with All Bets,
but it’s not nostalgic in any soft sense, it’s like a dare
while the beginning tells the listener look out
here comes something different from all the other stuff you’ve heard…
it’s like the working girl half in the shadow of a night time doorway
beckoning you into a place you may not like in the end
but would not be able to say no to; that’s Bitch for me

it says here you go, just see how dark it can get
then Shopping just hits with the cynicism and sarcasm

Cockroach with the ache of loneliness and disappointment
Shiny Shoes with regrets and failures
Proud nostalgia for things you never got

Ghost with memory and the tricks it can play
Sacrifice with self examination

Psychoblues with political attack and Pornography with hypocrisy
Hell Hole with nightmares

Johnny Garret with respect and the lack there of
All Bets a song about cynicism and needing answers
love it

Bad Mathematics are very excited. The album is now in its last days of release readiness. We have almost all the final mixes and what’s more we have a concrete decision on the play order.

Also, now that we have a final decision on the play order, we’ve decided to redesign the cover to fit better with the new content too. So all is rather busy here at BM HQ.

We shall be posting updates regularly now as we count down to the release date. Keep checking right here on these pages.
